My 4th daughter wanted sloppy joe’s for her 17th birthday so I whipped up a sweet and spicy mix just for her. The recipe below is only for the mixture that gives sloppy joe that tangy goodness we all know and love. This definitely can be added to ground meats in addition to beef.

Ingredients

18oz TRUFF Black Truffle Marinara Sauce

1 TBSP TRUFF Original hot sauce

1/4 cup stone ground mustard

1 TBSP plum vinegar

1 TBSP sherry cooking wine

1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup raw honey

1/4 cup maple sugar

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1 red onion

4 garlic cloves

1 shallot

3 tsp paprika

2 tsp ground turmeric

1 tsp ground fenugreek

1 tsp red pepper seasoning

1 tsp ground chipotle seasoning

1/2 tsp ground ginger

Directions

In a medium mixing bowl add marinara sauce, hot sauce, stone ground mustard, and the next 6 ingredients. Whisk ingredients and set aside. Next, rough chop red onion, shallot, and smash garlic. Add these to blender and puree into a thick paste.

On medium-high heat, sauté the onion mix in a large pot until translucent. Add paprika, ground turmeric, ground fenugreek, and the remaining seasoning to the pot. Stir until the mixture is fragrant. Add the marinara sauce mixture and continue to stir until well combined. Turn heat to low and simmer about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add to any cooked ground meat or store in refrigerator until ready to use.
